Utah

Dear Utah,
Today is my last day as a resident of your beautiful state. I thought I wouldn't be sad to leave you, but I was wrong. Thank you for being my home away from home all these years. Thank you for introducing me to Cafe Rio and fry sauce. Thank you for teaching me that ratting your hair is awesome. Thank you for giving me awesome roommates that became some of my best friends. Thank you for teaching me the grid system. Thank you for making it cool to wear a one piece swim suit. Thank you for making me feel really out of shape every time I hiked the "Y". Thank you for all the late night runs to 7 eleven. Thank you for consistently having construction on I15. Thank you for all the Saturdays spent laying out at Liberty Square. Thank you for the freezing winters and the burning hot summers. Thank you for letting me meet my husband here. Thank you for letting us get engaged and married here. Thank you for being a wonderful place to start a family. I will miss you and all my wonderful family and friends that are still here. I cant wait for the holidays when I can visit you again.

                                                                    Your dear friend,
                                                                              Sarah Jean

Grad

I need to give a quick shout out to this cute guy!!!!!

I am so proud of him.
in the past year he...
 became a husband
had an internship with Apple
worked crazy hard and was offered a job at Apple
finished his undergrad
was accepted into the masters program
worked part time
made Pudgy Penguin
won several awards for Pudgy Penguin
took care of his (cranky) pregnant wife
became a father
and now FINALLY...
a college grad

I'm not gonna lie, I got a little emotional as he walked across the stage to receive his diploma.
I am so grateful for all his hard work, and for the wonderful husband and father that he is.

Back when we first started dating I asked him what his dream was,
and he said, to work at Apple.
Then he asked me,
and I said, to be a mom.

I'm so glad we get to live out our dreams together!

Now onto the next chapter of our lives!

first

Today was Avery's first day at church,
which means it was my first day at attempting to squeeze into some of my skirts.
Lucky for us both events seemed to turn out well.
Avery slept through most of it, and I found a skirt with a lot of give.
All in all I'd call it a good sabbath day!

Avery was being so cute after church
I just had to take of picture of her.

one month

My little baby is one month old today.
I can't believe it!
Its amazing how much my life has changed in a month.
I already can't imagine my life without my little love muffin.
She has definitely captured our hearts.

Dear Avery,
I love the little sounds that you make.
I love that you smile in your sleep.
I love how angry you get when we swaddle your arms down.
I love how you lick your lips after you eat.
I love that I get to spend my days with you.
I love the way you look at your Dad and smile at him.
But most importantly I love that you've taught me how to be a mom.
I love you so much.

Mom

*Special thanks to my photographer (sister) for taking these pictures in her studio (my bedroom).
I hope I showed my appreciation to you by paying you lots of money
(gave you a high five and let you sleep on my couch).
Avery loved (hated) every minute of it!
