Thanksgiving

This year we spent Thanksgiving with my family in 

  Spokane

 (aka: pure joy)

We spent the entire weekend playing wii bowling,

eating lots and lots of food,

and visiting all the amazing sites Spokane has to offer.

 Our first stop was by my grandma and grandpa Mccain's home.

A place where my family spent many Thanksgivings.

Oh the memories!

Next a slide down the infamous

 giant 

 Radio Flyer

visited the Clock Tower in River Front Park

 Took a few rides on the carousel.

We even got Gege up on a horse!

(Yay for her new knee!!)

Fed the Garbage Eating Goat all our leftovers 

from our delicious lunch at Dicks!

and last but not least...

fulfilled the long standing 

Family go see a movie on Thanksgiving tradition!

This year we saw

We Bought a Zoo

We loved it!!

(I now give Brandon permission to buy a zoo if I die.

However Scarlett Johansen can not be the zoo keeper.)

 I have so much to be grateful for,

my wonderful husband,

our loving families,

and most importantly...

that soon I'll be allowed to wear elastic pants and not even feel bad about it!!

Life is good!

Hunger Games

Yet another one of my favorite books is being made into a movie.

Even Brandon loved it.

We both read it in about 3 days!

(record for me...and probably him)

It will be out in March and we can't wait!

We watched the trailer last night and these were some of our thoughts...

I am a lover of 

Thanksgiving

Some people just skip it and move right onto Christmas.

But not me,

I love everything about it!

eating, shopping, eating some more....what's not to love?

This year I am especially excited!

I'm excited to see my in-laws and then head up north

to good old Spokane.

I'm excited to see my parents and some of my best friends.

and 

I'm especially excited to share all of this with Brandon!

 I am very grateful for my hardworking husband.

He works so hard each and every day

and then takes care of me when i'm tired or not feeling well.

He deserves an extra piece of Pecan Pie!

Halloween

Well our Halloween was incredibly lame.

I had to work

and Brandon had to write a paper.

But don't worry,

 that didn't stop us from attempting to 

consume all the candy leftover from the trick or treaters.

I sure do love Halloween!

Jane Austen

My mom loves Jane Austen.

Oh and by loves, I mean she's a little obsessed.

I bet you didn't know they made a Jane Austen action figure.

Well they do...

and she's got it.

In my younger years I thought Jane was a little boring,

but as I grew up I too fell in love.

This is one of my mom's favorite Jane Austen quotes,

and now, its one of mine.

Fall

 Its beginning to look a lot like fall around here,

and I couldn't be more thrilled!

This week I finally got to break out my sweaters, scarves and UGGS!

So to welcome my favorite season back into our lives

we had a fall themed dinner.

Well the first official Moore Family Conference Weekend was a success!!

Now that we have our own little family,

its fun to start making our own traditions.

Growing up we always ate cinnamon rolls while watching conference,

but since I don't know how to make those I decided to try something new.

Something that would be "our" thing....

Biscuits and Gravy.

I'm very happy to say that my southern boy was happy, 

and so was I.

Between conference sessions I somehow convinced Brandon that it would be a good idea to hike the

I wish I could say that we had planned on it being the most unattractive picture ever,

however we were tired, the sun was in our eyes, and it was 150 degrees!

Well we finally made it, hence the smiles on our faces!!

I actually heard Brandon say that he was glad we did that!

little bit of this and that

We went to the Jimmer Show the other night.

Brandon was in heaven, 

and since basketball is one of the only sports I actually understand,

I enjoyed myself as well!

I made a new Halloween wreath this year.

I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out,

and I'm especially happy that it only cost about $8 to make!

Now that's my kind of craft!!

I am currently obsessed with artichoke hearts.

(is that weird?)

I make recipes based upon whether they call for artichoke hearts or not.

Very few do.

So we've been eating a lot of salads lately.

Brandon is thrilled.

Dear Mom, 

I know I used to hate AH's growing up 

and would get mad at you when you'd cook with them. 

You were right and I was wrong. 

Forgive me.

And last but certainly not least.

It only took 3 months to get here,

My trip to Texas was amazing!

Playing with Ella and Piper was pure joy.

Doing P90X with Becca was pure torture.

Not doing my hair all week was heavenly.

Lots of shopping and eating was good for my soul, 

yet bad for my wallet and thighs.

Getting splashed by Shamu at Seaworld was memorable.

and

Leaving the Rodgers family was sad.

however...

 coming home to my cute husband

was happiness.

Tomorrow is our last day in California

and my heart is breaking.

I sure am going to miss our little apartment,

driving Brandon to and from work everyday,

sleeping on an air mattress,

eating on a card table,

and who could forget

 our beautiful hand-me-down couches from the 90's!

I honestly didn't think I would be this sad to leave our little temporary home.

But it was a our first apartment,

our first bed,our first couch

and most importantly,

where I first learned how to be a wife,

and that's why I love it.

I guess you could say

"I left my heart in San Francisco"

I just couldn't resist.

A Very Lucky Man

Let me tell you why I am a very lucky man...

Every single morning, 

I get to wake up next to 

the girl of my dreams

She tells me that she loves me

and then asks me what I want for breakfast

(even if we're running late)

After that, we jump in the car 

and I get go on a 15 minute road trip

with my best friend

(20 minutes if there is traffic)

At 6:30pm, I leave work and 

walk out to the parking lot

Even after 2 months 

(73 days to be exact)

I still can't believe that the

 beautiful girl waiting next to the blue Honda 

is waiting for me

I then get my daily dose of laughter

as Sarah tells me about 

all the crazy customers 

that come in to her work

We get home and then she fixes 

me whatever dinner I want

(the pulled pork sandwiches are my favorite)

We then watch episodes of 

of my favorite TV show (The Office)

 even though we have seen

 them hundreds of times already

We get ready for bed 

and she again tells me 

that she loves me

Right before I fall asleep

I always think the same thing...

I am a very lucky man

I scream!

I have a new obsession called...

 make homemade lemon ice cream and then eat it.

Its my sister-in-law Janie's recipe,

and its ah-mazing!

If you add fruit to ice cream that means its healthy right?
